Alice and Jeff live in Menomonie, WI and have been joyfully married for nearly 36 years. They have three grown children who are all married and who have blessed them with an increasing number of amazingly perfect grandchildren – five granddaughters with another baby due in July.
Jeff is the President of the McDonell Areas Catholic School System in Chippewa Falls. Before taking this position, Jeff was the Director for the Office for Marriage and Family Life for the Diocese of La Crosse for seven years.
Alice serves the Diocese of La Crosse as the current director for the Office for Marriage and Family Life. Prior to assuming the directorship, she was the natural family planning coordinator for the Diocese. When they worked as a team, the Diocese of La Crosse advanced a number of ministries to married couples and their families. These ministries include remote, proximate and immediate marriage preparation, natural family planning education, marriage enrichment programming, parenting support, men’s and women’s programs and services to those who grieve.
Jeff and Alice are well-known presenters on matters of love and life both within and outside of the Diocese of La Crosse. In October of 2014, the Heinzens were invited by Pope Francis to participate in the Extraordinary Synod on the Pastoral Challenges of the Family at the Vatican. They were also delegates at the 2015 World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia. Both of them are delighted to be able to share their synod experience with us.
