Preparing Our Children to Understand and Answer Tough Moral Questions

June 18, 2020 Call Recording

A generation ago, Christian parents didn’t have to worry about how to explain transgenderism to their nine-year-old, or help their teen deal with mockery at school for believing that marriage is between a man and woman. Today we have no choice but to equip our kids to understand and to own the truth about such issues– truth that used to be self-evident.

Leila will speak about her book Made This Way (co-authored with Trent Horn of Catholic Answers), which offers parents, grandparents, teachers, and youth leaders crucial tools and techniques to form children with the understanding they need, always appropriate to their age and maturity level and in accordance with Church directives.

The secret to teaching effectively lies in an approach that begins not with the Bible or Church teaching–as crucial as those are–but with the Natural Law, the secret weapon that the Church has used for millennia to teach the moral law, but which has been shelved in past decades. The nature of male and female, and the nature of human sexuality, must make sense to a child or teen,or they will go with what the culture teaches. If we’re not teaching our children how to understand tough moral issues, then the world will.

Leila’s talk will seek to address these problems and how to reach children with the truth.
