About Soren & Ever Johnson

The Trinity House Community inspires families to make home a taste of heaven for the renewal of faith and culture.

The non-profit ministry was founded in 2006 as the John Paul II Fellowship by Soren and Ever Johnson. The Johnsons had seen that self-centered, impersonal lifestyles were on the rise everywhere, causing profound unhappiness, making the practice of an other-centered faith seem irrelevant, and creating a toxic culture. Meanwhile, the Johnson’s own experience of beautiful and fulfilling Christian community and culture was telling them things don’t have to be this way.

So, in response to Pope St. John Paul the Great’s call to bring the riches of the faith into the public square, the Johnsons started holding events in parishes around the Washington, DC, area, growing a community of Christians who wanted to help renew faith and culture. While mostly Catholics, the Community also has many beloved Protestant and Eastern Orthodox family, friends, collaborators, and supporters.

In 2014, the Community took their mission to the public with Trinity House Cafe + Market on the corner of Church & Market Streets in historic downtown Leesburg, Virginia. Trinity House is the Community’s public model of a Christian home, a little taste of heaven to share with neighbors. In 2015, a group of local families formed to encourage each other in the Trinity House way of life. In 2019, the Trinity House Community began offering the Heaven in Your Home Workshop and other tools to inspire and equip families. Now, Trinity House Community is poised to offer a parish-based model of formation for the entire family. Learn more about Trinity House Community Groups at www.trinityhousecommunity.org/subscription

How does a family make home a little taste of heaven? For starters, the family is a communion of persons just like the Holy Trinity, so it’s already very close to entering into divine life! Heaven is living with God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — and with his saints, especially our Blessed Mother Mary. To live with God, the family must follow His one-another-centered way of life, which Our Lord Jesus makes possible. By cultivating a life of putting one another first, the family home becomes a little taste of heaven!

You can learn much more about participating in the life of heaven now by watching or attending the Heaven in Your Home Workshop! After the workshop, follow the weekly Heaven in Your Home Letters and attend the monthly gatherings, in person or by livestream, to be encouraged by other families who are working to build up their own Trinity Houses. Join in and make your own home into a little taste of heaven to share with family, friends, and neighbors!
